JV Surf City schedule set

The JV will end their season with a 4-game spree in the Silver Division of the Surf City Tournament (Huntington Beach Sports Complex, 18100 Golden West) this weekend. The team will be meeting up with some familiar faces …

Friday:

• 4:30 pm Mission Viejo (beat twice, 7-0 and 7-6) on Field #4
• 6:00 pm San Clemente  (fresh face) on Field #4 — UPDATED!

Saturday:

• 8:00 am Peninsula (defeated, 15-2) on Field #4
• 11:00 am Dana Hills (defeated, 13-5) on Field #3

By the way, El Dorado is the 6th and final member of our division. We just don’t play them!

Awards: 1st place & 2nd place, based on points!

Game Lengths: 25 minute halves, stop time after goals and in the last 2 minutes
Goal Differential: 5 or more goal differential – no stop time, except in last 2 minutes
Time-Outs: One 2 minute timeout per team/game
Half-Time: 5 minutes
Overtimes: None

Points: 3 points for a win; 1 point for a tie; No points for a loss
Tie-Breaking rules:

• 1. Head-to-Head
• 2. Goal Differential – maximum of 10 per game
• 3. Least goals allowed
• 4. Shoot-Out – 8 meter shots from center hash, with one defender, player has 5 seconds to take one shot, begin clock on umpires whistle. Each team selects 3 players to shoot, alternate shots, most goals after 3 shots wins, if tie after 3 shots per team go to sudden victory
  Team designates, in order, an 11-player list to shoot before shoot-out begins.
