Palm Springs tourney seeks players (Updated)

Trabuco Hills will not have a team at this year’s Sand Storm Tournament in Palm Springs (Jan. 16-17) but Cory Samaras, Sand Storm Tournament Director, is forming a team for individual players.

Samaras notes the following women’s college coaches that will be attending Sand Storm 2010 … Cal-Berkeley, Claremont Mudd-Scripps, Columbia, Dartmouth, Denver, Fresno State, Navy, Oregon. Pacific, Pomona-Pitzer, Redlands, Richmond, SBCC, Stanford, St. Mary’s, UC-Davis, UC-Santa Barbara and Whittier.

  • WHAT: Championship Tournament (4 game minimum)
  • TEAM UNO FEE: Individual Registration – Girls: $150/player (Team UNO players are placed on a team, given a fabulous coach and then play in the tournament!)

We are now adding a second OCLA all Orange County  area team to attend the Sandstorm tournament in January over MLK weekend.   This team will be open to all Orange County High School Players. FAQ’s for OCLA Sandstorm Tournament Team …

  • Who is coaching? Coach Lee Danbara will be helping to Coach this team, along with assistance from several former d1 players, who live in the area but can not coach on regular basis.
  • How does mush does the tournament cost to attend? The actual tournament fee,  $100 per player. The  OCLA coaching fee will be $25.00 for the two day weekend.
  • How will lodging and chaperoning be handled if a player wishes to attend alone? If you have a player who wishes to attend, as a Solo option. A form will be posted on the OCLA web site  shortly with this info.    The solo fee for chaperoning will be $25.00 per girl, plus lodging will be based on a room with 3 to 4 players per room, and is estimated to be $25.00 – $35. per night. Food is separate!!! The total fee for chaperoning and lodging will be estimated to be $100.00. This info will be posted on the OCLA web site as well.
