El Toro 16, Varsity 10
After 10 minutes, the host Mustangs trailed 3-1 — not a bad start considering how fast the Chargers started in the teams’ first meeting back in March, a 16-4 El Toro win. But a signature quick burst by El Toro in the remainder of the half put Trabuco down 11-4 at the break.
In the second half, the Mustangs controlled much of the play — outscoring El Toro, 6-5 — but could never put a major dent in the Chargers advantage. Trabuco’s two-game winning streak ended with the Sea View League loss.
Record: 10-4, 2-3 Sea View.
Notes: El Toro leads the all-time series, 6-2 — including 5 straight wins. … The Mustangs’ 10 goals were their highest score against the Chargers in those 10 games. … In fact, 10 goals was the most the Mustangs have ever scored in a losing effort. … This marked the last Sea View game against the Chargers who move to the South Coast League for the next four seasons.
