Mustangs win 2 of 5 at Brine

The Mustangs won 2 of 5 games at the Fall ball-ending Brine Invitational at RSM Intermediate over the weekend.

• Saturday, the Mustangs started slowly, losing 6-3 to Mater Dei in their opener. Next, the Mustangs got their lone pool play win, defeating Lady O, 8-7. The day finished with a tough, 6-4 loss to toll road-rival Tesoro.
• Sunday started with Los Alamitos #2, who proved too tough in an 8-3 defeat in pool play finale.
• In a consolation game, the Mustangs ended the 2010 Brine on a resounding upnote: returning a “favor” from a Saturday loss by thumping Mater Dei, with a 13-1 victory and earning a 7th place finish.
