Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse JV opened their own 2012 Sticks & Stones Invitational with a come-from-behind 6-5 win over Mater Dei.
The first half ended in a 2-2 tie, with Kelsey Tapia and Caroline Rabourn scoring for the Mustangs. After the break, Mater Dei went on a run — scoring three of the next four goals (Tapia scoring the lone goal for Trabuco.) The Monarch led, 503, with eight minutes left.
But the Mustangs rallied — with a goal from Taylor Fox and two from Cheyenne Ochoa to clinch the win.
Record: 4-2-1
Next up: Rounds 2 and 3 at Sticks & Stones, Saturday.
