Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse JV took third place at their Sticks & Stones Invitational, topping Corona del Mar 10-7 in the 3rd/4th place game at the 5th annual JV festival.
After a wild first half, the Mustangs led, 6-5, with goals by two goals by Marina Sandoval plus one each from Becca Haggard, Becca Haggard, Kelsey Tapia and Monica Gascon.
After intermission, CdM tied the match, but the Mustangs responded with goals from Haggard and Tapia. CdM got one back, but the Mustangs iced the game with Tapia’s third goal and one from Madison DuMond.
Note: Sandoval was named to the Sticks & Stones All-Tournament, selected by the coaches.
Record: 5-3-1
Next up: At Tesoro, Thursday.
