Aliso Niguel 8, JV 2
The Trabuco Hills Girls JV Lacrosse team on Thursday visited the Aliso Niguel Wolverines. From the very start this game proved to be a frustrating contest for the Mustangs.
Trabuco was not winning the ground game and was struggling to penetrate the Wolverines’ defense. By halftime the Mustangs were down, 5-0. Sam Ransom played strong in goal despite the Mustangs’ inability to score. In the second half, though, the Mustangs pushed the Wolverines on every play and set a fast tempo.
Down 8-0 with a few minutes remaining the Mustangs finally came alive on a breakaway goal by Kaylyn Voytilla. They quickly regained possession and fired another quick goal from the stick of Alyssa Ortega. The Wolverines were on their heels as the Mustangs pushed again, but time ran out. The Mustangs caught fire too late in this one and fell to the Wolverines 8-2.
Record: 4-3-1
Next game: Tuesday, at El Toro.
