JV 6, Temecula Valley 5
The game started late after the Varsity’s overtime thriller, but the Trabuco Hills Girls JV Lacrosse team came out fast against the Temecula Valley Golden Bears at Trabuco Stadium.
The Mustangs scored quickly on a goal from Lauren Liberman and dominated the game with crisp passing and catching. The Golden Bears seemed to be struggling to mount any kind of attack. Halfway through the first half the score was 3-1 favoring the Mustangs when the Golden Bears started to put things together. They scored on a long run from midfield making the game a one-point contest. The game stalled in a battle for ground balls with each team failing to press the attack. With the half winding down, the Mustangs scored on a well-placed shot from Alyssa Ortega to make the score 4-2.
The second half started with the Golden Bears scoring on long runs and quickly tying the game at 4-4. Their speed was getting hard for the Mustangs to contain, but the defense tightened up and they got back to moving the ball through air. From that point on the Mustangs did not lose focus and put the game away winning 6-5 in what proved to be a hard-fought battle.
Goal scorers of the game were; Lauren Liberman (2), Alyssa Ortega (2), Jackie Cronkrite (1) and Kaylyn Voytilla (1). Sam Ransom was tough as usual in goal with 9 saves.
Record: 6-4-1
