JV 10, Aliso Niguel A 9 (OT)

Words cannot properly describe the epic edge of your seat performance of the Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Junior Varsity on Saturday.

Under the blazing Saturday sun, the Lady Mustangs faced off against a tough and determined Aliso Niguel JV-A team. The visitors set the pace scoring the first 2 goals of the game but Sydney Rauch and Gabrielle Bitting on the Trabuco offense quickly answered back tying it up 4 to 4 by halftime.

In the second half Sierra Knudsen, Zoe Cerutti, and Kristen Rosenberg dominated draw control. By the end of the second half Knudsen, Karli Franks and Bitting slammed in 3 more goals only to be match by 3 goals from Aliso for a final score of 7 to 7 … or so we thought. After an agreement from both sides, we were into overtime.

In a mere 6 minutes of play both teams scored 2 goals once again tying it up at 9 to 9. And then came sudden death overtime. Four sudden death overtimes to be precise. In an incredible show of teamwork and endurance, the Mustangs defense of Ashley Bell, Kaylie Petko, Meagan Raft, Sherry Hsu, Sherry Hsu, and Payton Tate held off multiple Aliso offensive attacks.

And then, during the 4th sudden death overtime, Rosenberg saw the opening and slammed in the final game winning goal. Final score 10-9.
