Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Junior Varsity showed their teamwork in a smartly played, 11-4 home victory Tuesday against the San Clemente Tritons.
In the first half, the Lady Mustangs combined an impenetrable defensive wall with unrelenting draw control, and ground ball domination. Sierra Knudsen, Gabrielle Bitting, Sydney Rauch and Kristen Rosenberg knocked in 5 goals in a steady first half pace. Ashley Bell and Kaylie Petko are credited with stops while Zoe Cerutti fielded the ground balls and Jordan Cisowski forced a turnover.
In the second half, San Clemente pushed 4 goals on the board but could not stop the Bitting, Knudsen, and Cisowski’s 6-score onslaught. Bell and Rosenberg continued the defensive stops while the team continued to hold a majority of the draw controls and take aways.
