JV 10, Tesoro 5

The Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Junior Varsity on Thursday battled Tesoro on Tesoro’s home turf.

In the first half, the Lady Mustangs opened strong with two goals by Gabrielle Bitting and Zoe Cerutti. Tresoro came back with 2 goals of their own but our Mustangs answered back with 3 goals by Sierra Knudsen and Jordan Cisowski. Tesoro managed one more goal for a half time score of 5-3. In the first half, the Lady Mustangs dominated draw control with credits to Gabby Gorven, Bitting, Knudsen, Sydney Rauch and Kristen Rosenberg. The Mustangs continued their pattern of defensive domination with ground ball recoveries and takeaways by Karli Franks, Sherry Hsu, Cerutti, Ashley Bell, Sarah Daneshmand, Gorven and Bitting.

The Lady Mustangs opened with the first goal of the second half by Rauch. Tesoro came back with two more goals leaving them only one point behind at 6-5. This was the closest Tesoro would ever get with Bitting slamming in the next 3 goals and a followup goal by Rauch to end the game with a final score of 10-5.

The Mustang’s defensive wall once again overwhelmed Tesoro in draw control, ground ball recoveries, and takeaways with credits going to Rauch, Bitting, Knudsen, and Hsu. The Mustang offensive was not to be outdone with 11 shots on goal.
