Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Junior Varsity played a very physical game at the Aliso Niguel Wolverines on Tuesday night.
It was a lot of ball movement with the first goal not scored until after a full 6 minutes of game play. The Mustangs dominated the first half goals with points by Gabrielle Bitting, Sierra Knudsen, and Kristen Rosenberg for a halftime score of 3-0. The Mustangs’ strong defense left the Wolverines scoreless in the first half with goal saves by Ashley Bell and Karli Franks; takeaways by Knudsen, Sydney Rauch, Sarah Daneshmand, and Bitting; and ground ball recoveries by Rosenberg, Rauch, Gabby Gorven, Bell, Bitting, Knudsen, and Kaylie Petko.
Aliso Niguel attempted to catch up with 3 goals in the second half but was no match for the Lady Mustangs skill and endurance with 5 Mustangs goals by Knudsen, Bitting, and Rauch leaving the final score at 8-3. The Mustang defense continued their aggressive pursuit of the ball with second half takeaways by Gorven and Rauch; and groundball recoveries by Knudsen, Bitting, Kayla Jones, Daneshmand, Sherry Hsu, and Gorven.
