CdM 6, JV 5 (Scramble)

Trabuco Hills Girls Junior Varsity started their Trabuco Scramble play day on Saturday with the tough Corona del Mar Sea Kings.

The Mustangs started strong with the first three goals of the game by Sydney Rauch and Gabrielle Bitting. By the end of the first half, the Sea Kings came back with 4 goals of their own edging ahead by a single point. The Mustang defensive fought aggressively with ground ball recoveries by Zoe Cerutti, Rauch, Karli Franks, Sarah Daneshmand, and Bitting; and takeaways by Rauch, Meagan Raft, Franks, Kristen Rosenberg, and Sierra Knudsen.

The Sea Kings started the second half with 2 goals but the Mustangs started coming back with 2 goals by Cerutti. The Mustang girls fought hard but were unable to score the tying goal before the clock ran out on a 6-5 CdM win. The defense continued their impressive performance with ground ball recoveries by Kaylie Petko, Cerutti, Bitting, Sherry Hsu, Raft, Knudsen, and Daneshmand; takeaways by Petko, Bitting, Knudsen, Rauch, Daneshmand, and Raft; and a game total of 5 saves in goal by Ashley Bell.
