Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Junior Varsity on Tuesday were trying to equal their 2014 peers Tuesday against the Tesoro Titans: Going undefeated in South Coast League matches!

The Mustangs started with a spectacular first half, shutting the Titans out with six goals by Sydney Rauch, Gabby Gorven, Gabrielle Bitting, and Sierra Knudsen. The Mustang defense mastered ball control with ground ball recoveries by Knudsen, Rauch, Karli Franks, Bitting, and Sherry Hsu; and an incredible 10 takeaways by Knudsen, Zoe Cerutti, Rauch, Bitting, Kaylie Petko, Hsu and Meagan Raft.

Tesoro mustered a single goal in the second half but the Lady Mustangs piled on four more goals with the help of Bitting, Rauch, and Goven. The Mustang defense continued their impressive performance giving up only a single shot on goal with ground ball recoveries by Knudsen, Rauch, Hsu, Bitting, Payton Tate, Cerutti, and Brianne Doan; and takeaways by Hsu, Knudsen, Jordan Cisowski, and Petko.

The 10-1 victory gave the 2015 Mustangs an 8-0 record in South Coast League play, equalling last year’s JV league mark! That’s an impressive 16 in a row combined!
