Laguna Hills 13, Varsity 11
Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Varsity lost its second game of the season, at Laguna Hills, by a 13-11 score on Friday night.
The Mustangs — notably missing freshman Hennessey Evans and senior Shannon Smith — traded goals with the Hawks in the first half, but a two-goal lead turned into a 10-7 deficit at half. Trabuco would make a comeback in the second half, but it was not enough.
The Mustangs did control the circle on draws — winning 15 of 24 on the night, a huge improvement over their last game against Santa Margarita: Kendall Derbyshire was able to grab nine draws, Audie Shutler had three, Sydney Rauch and Sierra Knudsen each had one.
Goals scorers: Kendall Derbyshire (5); Ashley Murillo (2); Gabi Bitting, Seirra Knudsen, Juliet Mooney and Audie Shutler had one goal each.
Ashley Bell had 12 saves on the night.
