Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Varsity defeated Tesoro, 18-6, to win the Mustangs’ third-straight South Coast League championship and fifth league crown in nine years!

The Mustangs Thursday night bounced back from Monday’s defeat at San Clemente by quickly opening a 9-0 lead on the host Titans, and were really never tested after.

Ieneke Jimenez had six goals, Hennessey Evans had five and Jill Phillips added two. Morgan Yee, Emilie Carrere and Jenna Chu added a goal a piece. Goalie Emma Stone had 11 saves.

The Mustangs, 13-4 overall, finished the 2019 league season with a 7-1 record. The team finishes its regular season Friday night at JSerra.

Next Tuesday, Trabuco Hills will begin its 13th consecutive post-season — earning a playoff berth in every year of the program’s existence!

In 2018, the Mustangs made the Orange County playoffs’ semifinals for the first time after five consecutive quarter-final losses. Trabuco Hills is just one of three Orange County teams with six-straight quarterfinal appearances — Foothill and Mater Dei, the other two.

Trabuco Hills now has five league championships: Sea View in 2011 and South Coast 2014, 2017, 2018 and now … 2019!
