Varsity’s 2011 girls lacrosse season started with a familiar theme Just like a year ago, Trabuco Hills Varsity opened their visit to the Rose Bowl Jamboree in Pasadena with a one-goal loss.
Corona del Mar — ranked No. 6 in O.C. — took a 3-0 lead at half. It was 4-0 before the Mustangs awoke with goals from Jessie Papageorge’s, Alex Miller and Sohee Ki (two) to tie the score. But CdM scored a late goal that Trabuco Hills couldn’t match. Lauren Thews picked up five ground balls in the loss.
Mustangs won’t have to wait long for a rematch as they visit the Sea Queens on Tuesday!
Notes: Trabuco Hills had won the previous two meetings between the teams (2010 regular season and a 2009 playoff thriller!)
