Rose Bowl Jamboree 2011 was much like 2010 for Trabuco Hills — minus the torrential rains.
Mustang Varsity won their first consolation match of the day in Pasadena, 6-5 over La Canada. Mustangs grabbed a 5-3 advantage by half on the strength of goals by Taylor Nunez, Rachel Lansner, Lizzie Moore and two by Hannah Redwine, who also had two assists. The Mustangs’ only goal after the break — by Justine Tobias — held up as goalie Jessie Vuzzo (six saves) made a key stop as time ran out. Lauren Thews grabbed five ground balls in the win.
Notes: Trabuco Hills has never lost to La Canada (wins at Rose Bowl in 2009 and 2008!)
