Sticks & Stones schedule set

The schedule for the 2011 Sticks & Stones Invitational is out!

In the 4th annual gathering of top local Junior Varsity girls lacrosse programs hosted by Trabuco Hills on March 26, the Mustangs will compete in Group Navy along with El Dorado and Dana Hills. Other groupings:

• Group Silver: El Toro, Laguna Hills and Newport Harbor
• Group Gray: Foothill, Mission Viejo and Santa Margarita
• Group Cobalt: La Canada, Los Alamitos and Tesoro

In group play, each team will play each other. Trabuco Hills JV will play Dana Hills at 8:55 a.m. and meet El Dorado at 12:35 p.m.

Based on a points formula, then the top teams from each of the four groups will meet in a semifinal match. Winners will advance to the finals. Others will play a third game in the consolation bracket.

• 2009: Los Alamitos avenged loss in 2008 S&S title game with thrilling 8-7 win over Foothill! El Toro and Trabuco Hills were semifinalists.
• 2010: Los Alamitos won its 2nd straight title, beating Foothill for 2nd consecutive year in championship game. El Toro and Trabuco Hills were semifinalists.
