JV 10, Los Alamitos 8
Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse’s JV team beat Los Alamitos for the second time in a week, this time a 10-8, come-from-behind-twice win.
The Mustangs were in trouble early, falling behind 5-1 (goal by Hope Dodd.) Melanie Leong’s first of three goals cut it to 5-2, where the score ended at half.
After the break, four consecutive Trabuco Hills goals (two more from Leong, then Payton Nunez and Jackie Huse) tied the match with 13 minutes left. Los Al fired back with two goals of their own — their last scores of the evening, to grab an 8-6 advantage. But Dodd scored twice, Megan McIntyre and Sara Klienbart once, as the Mustangs had the game’s last four goals for the win.
Notes: Trabuco beat the same team — Los Al’s frosh-soph squad — 6-3 in the semifinals of Saturday’s Sticks & Stones Invitational.
