SEA VIEW SUCCESS!

Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Varsity got back on the winning track with a 14-10 win over Sea View League rival Capistrano Valley.

Once again, the Mustangs first half performance was a bit lackluster. Their early 3-1 lead (goals by Taylor Nunez, Lexi Witkin and Lizzie Moore) soon became a 4-3 deficit with five minutes left before the break. But Moore scored twice — including a goal at the horn — to give Trabuco Hills a 5-4 advantage at intermission.

The Mustangs scored the second half’s first four goals (Jessie Papageorge’s, Witkin, Hanna Redwine and Sohee Ki.) After the Cougars responded with a goal, Trabuco Hills iced it with three more scores (Ki, Papageorge’s and Nunez.) Goals by Moore and Kayla Ruiz rounded out the scoring.

Notes: Alyssa Ranson had seven saves. … Ashley Brewer picked up four ground balls and had two takeaways. … Trabuco had lost three of four. The one win? 11-9 over Capo on March 18.
