Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Varsity evened their Sea View League record at 2-2 with a 16-11 win over visiting Laguna Hills.

The Mustangs opened strong, running out to a 5-2 lead midway through the first half on three goals by Jessie Papageorge’s plus one each from Hannah Redwine and Justine Tobias. The two teams then traded a pair of goals — Tobias twice for the Mustangs — and it was 7-4. Then Trabuco took it up a notch, opening a comfortable 11-4 halftime advantage on goals from Megan McIntyre, two more from Papageorge’s and another from Redwine.

After the break, the Mustangs got three goals from Redwine and one each form Tobias and Papageorge’s to open up a commanding 16-7 advantage.  Laguna Hills scored the game’s final four goals.

Notes: Jackie Huse had two assists, McIntyre and Melanie Leong each had one. … Groundball leaders: Alyssa Ransom, Niki Neeley, Huse and Redwine each had four; Alex Miller had three. … Redwine had five draw controls; Papageorge’s and Leong had three. … Miller had four takeaways. …  Cyrena Malkowski had seven saves.

Record: 8-5, 2-2 Sea View.
