Foothill 5, JV 3 (S&S)

The Trabuco Hills Girls JV Lacrosse team drew the Foothill Knights’ Frosh/Soph team in game two of the Sticks and Stones Tournament on Saturday.

Friday night’s game seemed to invigorate the Mustangs and they challenged the Knights at every turn.  This game was marked by a frenetic pace.  The Mustangs took some greater chances with downfield passing in effort to move the ball.  However, the games pace was set by the tough defense of Shelby Siano, Erin Beall and Alyssa Ortega.  The only thing that stopped the Mustangs’ offence was Foothill’s goalie.  The Mustangs won the ground game and controlled the ball for the entire first half, but still were down by one with Foothill leading 3-2.  The Mustangs increased the intensity in the second half, but could not change the outcome.  The final score was Foothill 5, Trabuco 3.  Although, they lost, it truly felt like the girls’ JV team won this game.  They dominated in possession and tenacity but  came up short.
