Mustangs get #9 seed, CdM

The OC/US Lacrosse Orange County championship playoffs seedings have been set, with Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse gaining the No. 9 seed and a road match vs. Corona del Mar on Tuesday. Tentative game time is 3:15 pm.

Los Alamitos, looking to win its fifth consecutive county championship, was awarded the No. 1 seed. The winner of Trabuco-CdM gets the winner of Los Alamitos-Dana Hills (#16) on Thursday.

This year, the common opponents of CdM (10-5) and the Mustangs (11-5-2) were Aliso Niguel (both lost) and Woodbridge (both lost in overtime); and Northwood, Newport Harbor and Temecula Valley (both won). CdM’s Laxpower page is here!

Trabuco-CdM is a rematch of a playoff game two years ago. The Mustangs couldn’t solve Corona del Mar in the first round of the 2011 OC/US Lacrosse Orange County championship playoffs, losing 14-10 at Laguna Hills Stadium. CdM had also  beaten the Mustangs that year at season-opening Rose Bowl Jamboree (5-4) and the next week (11-8).
