JV 13, Esperanza 3
Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse JV team opened up the 2014 season with a solid 13-3 win at Esperanza High School. The Mustangs teamwork included a solid defense, great communication, constant pressure and aggressive play with a total of 20 shots on goal.
The game opened with a quick goal by Jordan Cisowski, assisted by Jacquie Cronkrite. The Mustangs owned the draw control, winning the ball 13 out of 18 times. Shannon Smith’s draw control work gave her nine possessions with Kaylyn Voytilla gaining four. Smith closed the half with two unassisted goals as the Mustang offense dominated the play, opening up an 8-2 lead at half. The second half started off with a fast, unassisted goal by Kody Shelton.
Defense played a strong game with seven takeaways from Sydney Rauch, Cronkrite, Voytilla and Smith.
Erin Beall made a sensational debut as the JV goalie with eight saves, leaving little hope for the Esperanza offense.
