Foothill 6, JV 4 (S&S)

Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Junior Varsity was looking to take home the program’s first championship trophy from its own Sticks & Stones tournament on Saturday vs. Foothill.

But the early afternoon heat, the Lady Mustangs started against Foothill with a strong offensive, scoring the first 3 goals of the game. Foothill quickly rallied back with 2 goals at the end of the first half and 3 more in the second half. The Mustangs scored one more goal before the end of play — still a 6-4 loss to Foothill.

Alyssa Ortega and Kaylyn Voytilla are credited for Mustang goals with an assist by Sierra Knudsen. The Mustangs showed strong defensive performance highlighted with an amazing 8 saves by Ashley Bell. Sydney Rauch, Ortega, Voytilla, Kaylie Petko, Gabrielle Bitting, Knudsen, and Gabby Gorven are credited with groundball recoveries and takeaways.

Trabuco had to settle for a second-place trophy — just like they did a year ago!
