Varsity makes it back-to-back South Coast League championships

thglax-champsX2Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Varsity on Thursday completed their quest to win back-to-back league championships for the first time in the program’s history with a 19-8 win over visiting Laguna Hills.

The Mustangs gained their second consecutive South Coast League title — third in five years — by taking a 6-1 lead on the Hawks (5-9) in the game’s first 10 minutes and kept that margin until half, up 11-6. After intermission, the Mustangs scored three quick goals to essentially ice the win.

Trabuco Hills, which went 7-1 in league play, was lead by eight goals and an assist from Hennessy Evans and six goals and an assist from Juliet Mooney. Kristen Rosenberg had two goals and Ieneke Jimenez, Jenna Chu and Jisselle Lopez each added a score.

Trabuco Hills (10-6), headed for its 12th playoff appearance in its program’s 12-year history, also won league titles in 2011, 2014 and 2017.
