JV 6, Tesoro 5
Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse’s JV team got back on the winning track vs. Tesoro in their second game at the Surf City Invitational in Huntington Beach.
But it wasn’t easy.

Tesoro soon went ahead, 2-1, but Dodd’s second goal tied the match at 2 with 6 minutes left in the first half. After the half, Tesoro scored twice in the first seven minutes to regain the lead at 4-3. Tesoro scored again with 9 minutes left, taking the biggest lead of the evening at 5-3.
Then came a Mustang rally. McIntyre scored twice — at 8 minutes and then again at 5 minutes — tying the score at 5. Then with 3 minutes left, McIntyre fought hard for a ground ball pickup that resulted in a shot stopped by Tesoro’s goalie. But a quick scoop of the rebound by Dodd got to Melanie Leong won scored to make it 6-5, Trabuco Hills, with only 55 seconds left! The Mustang defense held off a final rush by Tesoro to seal the win.
