Varsity 5, Palisades 3
After a rearranging of the Rose Bowl schedule, Trabuco Hills Girls Lacrosse Varsity managed to hold on for a 5-3 victory over Palisades in the opening round of the Jamboree’s top Gold Bracket in Pasadena!
In the first half, goals from Justine Tobias and Jessie Papageorge’s gave the Mustangs a 2-0 lead. But the Dolphins tied the match before another Papageorge’s goal gave Trabuco a 3-2 lead at half.
After the break, the Mustangs had trouble putting Palisades away. Lexi Witkin’s goal with an assist from Hope Dodd made it 4-2, but Palisades answered before Hannah Redwine’s goal — assist to Rachel Lansner — ensured a win for Trabuco.
Notes: This was Trabuco’s 7th visit to the Jamboree … Redwine had three takeaways and picked up two ground balls; Cyrena Malkowski had five saves.
